I Am Bolt, Diary of a Badman, H2O
and Who Are You
are just a few of the Caribbean blockbuster films that will be
featured at this year's Houston Caribbean Film Festival.
I Am Bolt well be
screened at this year's Festival in June.
A Jamaican film by directors Benjamin Turner and Gabe Turner, the
movie documents the life of
Olympic sprinting champion Usain Bolt, “the world’s fastest man.”
The Houston Caribbean Film Festival (HCFF) is off to a great start in
preparation for our June 9-11, 2017 Festival. This year we will feature
two films back by overwhelming popular
demand: Saint Lucian film,
You Are You.
This year the Festival will feature Barbados film, H2O.
You Are You chronicles Saint Lucia's
enchanting cultural and natural heritage.
It is the hopes “Who Are You” will stir viewers to not only
appreciate the island and its traditions more, but that it would drive all
St. Lucians to do what they can to preserve their natural and cultural
is a documentary and a creative informative work of visual art, shot on
location in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. The scope of the project
through “Water cooperation” is an attempt to highlight and introduce
awareness to the impact of water sources, and its management. Water
management plays a pivotal part in the physical and environmental wellbeing
of all living things.
Talento Cuba (Dance With Your Heart) is a Afro-Cuban film about
Jennyselt, a dancer of Afro Cuban Folklore, with great prestige within Cuba
and internationally and currently dances with the group Yoruba Andabo. She
seeks her successor to keep the legacy of Afro-Cuban culture, dance and
Proceeds to Benefit the CAHFT
Scholarship Foundation Fund.
